Stock Control for Reels of Cable is now a Reality

Protrak is now one of the few systems that enables you to easily manage stock that is held on Bulk Reels or Rolls, e.g. Cabling, Plastic Film etc. that is then cut off to be sold in smaller lengths.
Each reel is given a unique number when booked into stock, with the quantity on the reel. Thereafter, each time a length is cut off, it is recorded to give full audit control at reel level.
Sales staff can see what lengths are available to meet customer requirements.
Cutting instructions are produced by the system to tell warehouse staff which reels to cut from to optimise the use and to minimise waste.

Vision Software launches online demo

Vision Software have now setup the facility for companies evaluating their Protrak software to go on line for a ‘guided demonstration’ of the system.
“Requests for an on line demo have far exceeded requests for a demo CD” says Brian Nash, Managing Director at Vision Software. “Its popularity has grown because it gives you access to all of the systems facilities, with the added benefit of speaking to a consultant at the same time, who can answer your questions” continues Brian.
The on-line demo has proved particularly popular during the short listing phase, its helps in getting a good idea of look and feel, functionality and usability without having to install trial versions from CD. “If you are going through the short listing process, the last thing you want it to have lots of different evaluation systems installed locally; and having to teach yourself”, says Brian, “Using the online evaluation, we are able to give potential users a quick and easy method of evaluating, whilst being able to answer all their questions, without them having to leave their desk. It’s what our customers want”.
